A demographer studies human populations looking for trends of how populations change over time.  These 7th grade geography students have taken on the role of demographers.  As a demographer, they are "attending a conference" to learn about the challenges China has faced with its large and growing population and about the plans China has implemented to try and address those challenges.  After reading about the impact of each plan, students discuss whether they would recommend these plans for countries facing similar challenges.
