Mrs. Skillingstad, Washington Assistant Principal of the Year
After a thorough selection process, including a site visit, it was determined that Mrs. Skillingstad has earned recognition as the Assistant Principal of the Year for the state of Washington. She couldn’t be more pleased and humbled by the recognition.
During the process, AWMLP (Association of Washington Middle Level Principals) Executive Committee members were able to talk to a number of students, teachers and classified staff. Mrs. Skillingstad was chosen for her skill, passion and dedication as well as being known for going above-and-beyond and getting results.
In the coming weeks, NASSP (National Association of Secondary School Principals) will vet Assistant Principal of the Year state-winners from across the nation. We have our fingers crossed that Mrs. Skillingstad will be selected as the national winner. Westwood Middle School will formally recognize Mrs. Skillingstad and celebrate her great accomplishment on February 1st at 3:15 pm in the Westwood library. Congratulations Mrs. Skillingstad!
