Mr. Wiley’s 6th grade Language Arts class has been working hard this quarter reading the book The Watsons Go to Birmingham, 1963 by Christopher Paul Curtis and studying its use of figurative language and literary devices.  We have completed a number of activities designed to connect students with the text and make the literary devices more relatable.  This week we focused on puns and clichés.  The students shared a series of “tearable puns” with each other and examined the word play and humor found in each.
