Mrs. Mortenson’s eighth grade Language Arts class students are writing a dystopian narrative.  The students finished reading The Giver, by Louis Lowery and now get to create their own society.  The students are focused on developing setting, characters, conflict, and rising action.  These students are looking at a map to see where their Native American community would be located.  In their story, the United States is split into districts based on ethnicity.
