My educational background includes attending Pacific Lutheran University, Eastern Washington University and Washington State University.  I have a BA in Secondary Education, BS in Biology, MS in Ichthyology (Fisheries Science) and a Principal Certification.

 

Westwood Middle School has been my professional home for 7 years.  Prior to serving the Wolverines as their assistant principal and athletic director, I've worked in education as a Math/Science Curriculum Coordinator, and Science and Math Teacher at the high school and college level for over 20 years.  Prior to realizing that education was where I belonged, I worked as an ichthyologist for Upper Columbia United Tribes.

 

In 2018, the Westwood ASB helped me win the honor of Assistant Principal of the Year for the State of Washington.  Mrs. Burden and I were able to attend the national conference in Chicago and brag about our students, staff and community.  On a day to day basis, Wolverine students and staff make me smile with their work ethic during this pandemic, their creativity, and focus on learning.
