Here are important dates for football this year (2023):
Monday 8/28 - Football Pad Checkout - 3:30-5:00
- This is optional (students won't be penalized for not going). Students must be cleared in order to get their gear (physical, online forms, ASB paid).
- Students can come to WMS to get their pads and gear. They can show up anytime from 3:30-5:00 and once they get their gear, they can leave. We will not actually be practicing outside. Just getting gear. Open house is also this day, from 5:00-6:30.
The first day of football practice is Wednesday, August 30th from 2:30-5pm. Buses will leave at 5:15. You can pick your student up at (or around) 5:00.
- If students did not get gear on Monday, they will get gear on this day.
Football is available for 7th and 8th grade students. A current sports physical (good for 24 months), $30 activity fee paid online or in the front office and online activity forms, through FinalForms, are required to participate. The Westwood Football coaches are Coach Kadeem Smalls, Coach Rick Olson, Coach Ryan Wagner, and Coach Dan Wagner.
Required football gear for athletes: Mouth guard. Students may not participate without a mouth guard.
Students must use pads and chin straps provided by the school. Visors cannot be worn. Cleats will provided if students need them.

Later in the season, Westwood and Cheney Middle Schools will play each other at Roos field. Here is a map showing Roos field and parking.
