Ms. Graham's health class learned about core values

In Ms. Graham's health class, students learned about core values and why it's important to identify and understand your values. Values are our fundamental beliefs that determine our priorities, and knowing and living according to your values will give you a blueprint for fast and effective decision making in school and life while honoring yourself.

Students asked themselves the following questions to help identify their core values:
  1. Who do I admire? What are this person's admirable qualities?
  2. When am I happiest? What was I doing and who was I with?
  3. When was I most proud?
Students then thought about their answers and created a list of five values to help guide them through life. As a class, we created a word cloud of our core values. Our most common values were friendship, joy, love, humor, and strength.
