We have been providing classroom lessons in the 6th grade and will soon be providing these same lessons in the 7th and 8th grade. It was fun to jump into the students zooms and interact with the 6th grade students we have yet to meet in person. They did an awesome job! We have also been working to provide whole school Social Emotional Learning as part of a SEL team. We are thankful for the new Character Strong curriculum and the awesome team that we are working with to provide guidance and a plan for every classroom. In the near future, we will also be providing small group instruction via zoom to those in need of extra support.

We spend a lot of time talking to students and families via email, on the phone and making weekly home visits to families and students. It is nice to connect with the students and families we get to visit. Contacting a counselor can be done in many ways this year. Students can call, email, or fill out our referral form that comes right to us. Very soon, we will be putting our counseling google classroom link in every teacher’s google classroom. This way, if a student needs to connect with Mr. Williamson or Mrs. Hyde they will be able to connect with us via zoom during access time.

We do not know what this year will bring for all of us but we are here to help and support anyway we can.
