Ms. Mortenson's students started mapping labs in geography by creating a scaled map of the classroom.  Students labeled all the items in the classroom and created a key.  Later in the school year, students will use these skills to identify longitude and latitude locations and the type of physical, economic, population density, elevation, and climate environments they belong to.  These skills will help students understand why these characteristics impact people and countries so much.
