Students in 8th ELA recently completed a unit on Animal Farm by George Orwell.

 

For a final project, students in Advanced ELA participated in a mock trial that debated the question: "Is the main character, Napoleon the pig, guilty for the crimes against the other animals in Animal Farm?"  

 

Students took on roles including prosecution attorney, defense attorney, judge, witness, and juror. Students were encouraged to dress for their role, and they did an excellent job preparing for and acting out this engaging learning activity.
